Connecting
Rods
Connecting Rods are also known as Con rods that transmit
motion (especially, one that connects a rotating wheel
to a reciprocating shaft). In relation with piston engine,
the connecting rods connect the piston to the crank
or crankshaft and are generally made of steel for production
engines. These are also be made of aluminum or titanium
and operate by connecting one end of a rod which is
intended to follow a circular path, while the other
end follows a path along a straight line or curve of
large radius. The con rod is under tremendous stress
from the reciprocating load represented by the piston,
actually stretching and relaxing with every rotation,
and the load increases rapidly with increasing engine
speed. This is the reason why while building a high
performance engine, great attention is paid to the con
rods by following techniques as grinding the edges of
the rod to a smooth radius, balancing all con rod/piston
assemblies to the same weight. This all is done so as
to prevent sudden failure of con rods under stress.
Forged connecting rods are manufactured
with the process of heating, hammering and beating the
metal in order to transform it into a shape. The hot
steel forging process develops connecting rods that
are used for all kinds of Light Motor Vehicle &
Heavy Duty Vehicles. Kayjayforgings are the famous manufacturers
& exporters of connecting rods. Some of their other
forging products like Custom Connecting Rods, Forged
connecting rods, crankshafts and many more. They not
only deal in forged products but also other machined
& precision sheet metal components for automotive
sector like Brake Pedals, Gear Shift Lever, and Lever
kick Starters etc. Many prominent automobile companies
are the buyers of the Kay Jay’s extraordinary product
line.
